This is a 750ml universal breather catch tank that collects oil mist and liquid from an engine’s crankcase ventilation, venting clean air through a small filter and holding the oil so it can be drained off.
What’s in the box
- 1 x 750ml cylindrical tank with two welded mounting brackets
- 1 x breather filter with hose clamp
- 1 x brass drain tap
Key features
- 750ml capacity
- Welded aluminium body, about 7.5 cm in diameter and 13 cm long
- Two male AN flare inlet ports on the side
- Vent outlet of about 3.5 cm for the supplied breather filter
- Brass wing-type drain tap for emptying without removing the tank
- Two mounting tabs with bolt holes
Typical uses
- Catching oil from rocker-cover or crankcase breathers
- Track and performance engines that push oil mist through the breathers
- Replacing an open breather that drips oil into the engine bay
Installation notes
Mount the tank upright, below the engine breather outlets if possible, and well away from exhaust heat. Use oil-resistant hose with AN fittings that match the ports, avoid low spots and kinks where oil can pool, and check and drain the tank regularly. Venting crankcase gases to atmosphere may not suit every road vehicle, so check local requirements. The Menin Motorsport workshop in Pretoria can plumb it in for you.
